Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of AccountingExamsMastery.ca (the “Site”) and the Mastery: Pro Exam Prep mobile application (the “App”), both operated by Tokenizer Inc. (“Tokenizer”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing the Site or installing/using the App, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, do not use the Site or App.
1) Who May Use the Services
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) and capable of forming a binding contract.
- If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2) Accounts & Security
- You are responsible for your account credentials and all activity under your account.
- Notify support@tokenizer.ca immediately of any unauthorized use or security incident.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts for violation of these Terms (see Section 13).
3) Subscriptions, Trials & Payments
- Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not store your full payment card details.
- Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel through your Apple/Google account settings before the renewal date.
- Pricing/changes: We may change pricing or features prospectively. App-store terms may apply to pricing, refunds, and cancellation.
- Trials: If a free trial is offered, you’ll be billed at the end of the trial unless you cancel in time via the app store.
4) Educational Use; No Professional Advice
Content is provided for educational purposes only. We do not provide accounting, legal, tax, investment, or other professional advice. You are responsible for how you use the content and for complying with applicable laws and regulations.
5) Intellectual Property & License
- Our content: Unless otherwise marked, all content (questions, explanations, cases, mock exams, text, graphics, and software) is owned by Tokenizer or our licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws.
- License to you: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for your personal, non-commercial exam preparation.
- Open content: Certain pages may be labeled with CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. Where so labeled, that license applies to that page’s content. Otherwise, all rights are reserved.
- Restrictions: You may not copy, scrape, reproduce, resell, publicly display, or distribute question banks or other protected materials; reverse-engineer the App; or bypass access controls.
6) User Content & Feedback
- If you submit content (e.g., notes, comments, feedback), you grant Tokenizer a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, and display such content to operate and improve the Services.
- Do not upload content you do not have rights to or that is unlawful, infringing, or confidential to others.
7) Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use automated tools (scrapers, bots) to extract content or overload our systems.
- Circumvent technical measures, share accounts, or attempt to access another user’s data.
- Upload malware or engage in activity that is abusive, harassing, or unlawful.
We may throttle, suspend, or terminate access for suspected abuse.
8) Third-Party Services & Links
The Services may link to third-party sites (e.g., app stores, analytics, crash reporting). Their terms and privacy policies govern their services. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices.
9) Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose personal information (including PIPEDA-aligned practices and app-store data). By using the Services, you consent to our data practices described there.
10) Availability, Changes & Beta Features
- We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time with or without notice.
- Beta/preview features may be offered “as is” with limited support and may change or be withdrawn.
11) Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the Services and content are provided “as is” and “as available.”
We disclaim warranties and conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and do not warrant that:
- content is error-free or aligned with any exam provider’s evolving syllabi,
- your exam results will improve or that you will pass,
- the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of defects.
12) Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Tokenizer and its directors, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Services.
- Our total liability for all claims relating to the Services is limited to the greater of CAD $50 or the amounts you paid to Tokenizer (if any) for the Services in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain exclusions or limits; in those cases, this section applies to the maximum extent permitted.
13) Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time and cancel subscriptions via your app-store account. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you violate these Terms, pose a security risk, or if required by law. Upon termination, your license ends and you must stop using the Services.
14) Exam Provider Independence & Trademarks
Tokenizer Inc. is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by CPA Canada, the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI), the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), provincial/territorial insurance regulators, FP Canada, CFA Institute, FINRA, Apple, or Google. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners and used for identification only.
15) Governing Law & Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario, Canada. If you reside in Québec, mandatory consumer protection rules may grant you additional rights.
16) Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on the Site and/or in-App. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

18) Miscellaneous
- Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- No waiver: Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
- Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
- Entire agreement: These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Tokenizer regarding the Services.
